  • I believe when you're drilling metal, it's "heavier pressure and slower speed", not light pressure and faster speed..........That only work hardens the metal you're drilling. Quality bits help a lot too!!

    • @Matt's Off Road Recovery 10-4 !

      shortfuse43shortfuse43Oy oldin
    • The reference was if you’re drilling a hole .002 bigger than the whole you just drilled, if you use a lot of pressure the bit will just grab. In that case, lots of speed, and a little pressure. It’s not an ideal situation no matter what.

  • Seems like for a 10 man/woman crew, Matt's always the one doing everything haha jk guys. Matt has to be the most patient person ever, wether in the shop or in the trail doing a rescue, never gets frustrated, never gets discouraged, and never asks anyone to do anything he wouldn't do himself. That makes for a good day of work, and they all truely seem to love what they do. I mean working on custom off road rigs and off roading to rescue others, what's not to love, but with anything you do it day in and day out some days are better then others. I try to figure out the relationships, Matt is Rudy's dad right? And Matt's wife, can't rember her name now. And is Lizzy part of the family? Rudy gf?

  • I have a jeep comanche with a Clayton long arm up front and rear 4 link conversion rear, Ford 9" custom axles front and rear, 4.38 gears with air lockers, 35s, ORI struts front and rear, swapped in a 2.0TDI and running a 5spd manual with a Dana t-case and a list of other stuff. Custom bumpers. Cut out flares, no rubbing and can stuff my 35s no problem! Might go to 37s next time but I like to drive my rig on the street and the way it is now with the turbo diesel it drives great! Plus I get 30 mph and can easily cruise down the hwy at 70 mph at 1900 rpm. It's got like 220hp and 340 ft lbs of tq because it's tuned up a bit so it moves around pretty quickly. It's also damn good on the trail. I don't want to beat the shit out of it so I try to stay away from walls or really narrow stuff. I live in Oregon and we have a ton of good wheeling areas around where live, but I would love to come down to your area to wheel!

  • Been trying to find the part of the video that talks about the new engine you guys installed...what are the specs on it? Is it still a 4.0 or is it a stroker now? Does it have built internals? Performance head? High torque cam? My buddy has an 01 Cherokee on 1 ton axles, 40" tires, atlas t-case, built trans with a trans controller so he can select what gear he wants to be in and it will stay in that gear, TC lock up switch, long arm 4 link front and rear on coilovers w/ custom upper coilover mounts front and rear that allow a longer coilover than normal, air lockers, full hydro steering, limit straps front and rear, fully custom cut and welded inner fenders, fully plated the entire chassis from front to back with ¼" steel plate that was cut on a water jet with ½" diameter holes everywhere so he could weld the edge of the plate as well as all of the holes, 5.13 gears, custom bumpers and sliders, custom roll cage, custom rear spare tire mount that also holds the fuel cell in the rear, made custom aluminum door panels front and rear, used electrical conduit to run all of the wires inside the jeep instead of them just all over the place, bedlined the entire interior, built a custom aluminum center console for the shifters, built a custom aluminum dash with a 10 buttom switch panel along with 10 toggle switches and all of his gauges and the list goes on and on. It's one bad ass Cherokee! His engine recently started making noise so he decided it was time for a new one so he found a good block and had it all machined and did a 4.2 full forged bottom end, then had the head fully ported and polished, oversized valves, high torque roller cam and roller lifters, roller rockers, heavy duty springs, etc. Running the same header as you, ported the intake manifold, upgraded the TB, custom intake and finally had a custom tune made for it. He's gonna run that for a while and let it break in for a while, but will be doing a supercharger in the near future, once the new engine has 5k miles or so on it.
